Celebrating 20 Years

From 20 to 2.0

We're proud to be turning 20. But, while others see Chartis at 20, we see Chartis 2.0.
Because next is all that matters. The next 20 years will shape healthcare in the country for generations to come. We are excited, and privileged, to be a part of it.

Over the past 20 years, we have been privileged to be at the forefront of change with clients across the country — navigating disruption, creating opportunity, developing more equitable care delivery models, and building a healthier world.

To mark this milestone, we’re highlighting some of the work we’re delivering to transform healthcare, our newest generation of colleagues who will be part of the next 20 years, and some of our inspiring alumni who continue the Chartis mission of materially improving healthcare in new venues. Here at Chartis, we don’t just adapt to the future — we aim to shape it.

Q&A with Chartis’ Ken Graboys

Ken sits down with Consulting Magazine to discuss Chartis’ journey over the last 20 years and the forces shaping the future of healthcare.

Ken Graboys
Chief Executive Officer

We believed that by not being driven by traditional business objectives first and foremost—such as growth or industry domination—that it would lead to better and more meaningful outcomes for our clients as well as better and more deeply aligned relationships with those clients. And that it would provide for a more fulfilling work experience and professional environment for our people.

"As the Chief Strategy Officer, I had the opportunity to work on our precision medicine strategy. In the midst of this pandemic, Children’s Hospital Colorado went live with its next generation sequencing platform…It’s really quite incredible that just a little while ago, it took an entire decade, and I think a billion dollars, to sequence the first genome. Now we can do it in one day for just a few thousand dollars here at our own hospital." Raphe Schwartz, Chief Strategy Officer, Children’s Hospital Colorado
“Through my work, I strive to promote equitable access to high quality healthcare and improve outcomes for residents of the city of Detroit and beyond. Those access challenges have become all the more apparent through the multiple waves of COVID-19…As part of those collective efforts to promote equitable access, I also see my role as making sure the Detroit Medical Center remains a vital asset to the community and this region for years to come.” Gennie Snow, Group Chief Strategy Officer, Detroit Medical Center
“One aspiration I have for the future of healthcare is to see healthcare being spoken about as public healthcare…What I get really jazzed about is how we can all collaborate towards a common end goal. How we can create public-private partnerships to put the right incentives in place to engage the right stakeholders. To ultimately create the healthcare landscape and ecosystem that we believe just and right for all humans in our nation and beyond.” Nitya Kanuri, Consultant, The Chartis Group
